Brodies engaged iTrain to deliver firmwide communications, user support materials and training in support of replacing their legacy practice management and time recording systems with Aderant Expert across the whole firm.
The Challenge
Brodies was replacing its legacy practice management and time recording systems with Aderant Expert across the whole firm.
Following a rigorous selection process, iTrain Legal emerged as the clear choice.
Brodies engaged iTrain to deliver firmwide communications, user support materials, and training, for this business-critical rollout. The rollout was conducted face-to-face with training support delivered by iTrain for the days following go-live.
The Strategy
The pre-go live communications strategy designed and implemented by iTrain, a key factor in change management, was designed to introduce the firm’s colleagues to the project. It provided updates, managed expectations of changes in systems via roadshow presentations, and included an email and intranet campaign.
iTrain created resource materials to support users with the new system. These included: Quick Reference Guides and ‘How To’ Videos for all major aspects of Aderant.
iTrain designed and delivered an eLearning package to support Brodies when upskilling current and new colleagues on the Aderant system. Thanks to iTrain’s experienced trainers, Brodies‘ request of simultaneous training across all offices went smoothly. iTrain provided face-to-face training and support to colleagues in all Brodies’ offices with remote training provided to those unable to attend face to face training.
Delegates were trained in groups of up to eight people. Each group received two training sessions.
The first session was delivered in a presentation style. The second, was delivered the week before go-live and was a trainer-led, hands-on recap session; allowing users an opportunity to practice.
iTrain delivered training to Brodies‘ internal training team, as they had limited experience with Aderant Expert. They were then able to deliver future training and support.
After go-live iTrain supported the colleagues they had trained, providing desk-side support and workshop training sessions for two weeks following implementation. This ensured Brodies’ colleagues were comfortable with their new systems and addressed any knowledge gaps. This support was a crucial part of the service, as the real hands-on learning took place at this point.
The Results
Aderant is business critical and Brodies had to ensure that its colleagues were able to use it comfortably within a tight deadline.
The training sessions and ongoing support enabled colleagues across the firm to feel confident to get up and running with their new technology.
The training services were delivered on time and utilised iTrain’s expertise in face-to-face delivery techniques and remote training support once live.
Feedback from the Brodies team has been very positive.
David Edwards, Finance Director at Brodies said: “Putting in a new PMS is a major project for any law firm. For such a project to be successful you need to have the best support you can get. iTrain Legal provided that best in class training resource and were a major contributor to the completion of a successful project for Brodies.”
